Harry Potter Studio Might Get Shut Down

In what has come as a complete shock to no one, the studio making Harry Potter games, is being shut down. In an announcement to gamesindustry.biz, EA have said that they have proposed shutting down EA Bright Light, a developer with a history of mainly developing games in the Harry Potter series.

Since they recently finished the last in the series, you could argue that this left them with not much to do but this was apparently not the case.

"After a review of all current and future projects, Electronic Arts has started a formal consultation process with its Bright Light employees over the proposed closure of the studio,"

So Bright Light still had some ideas floating around but clearly nothing that had EA excited, so it looks like the studio will be closed.

This news kinda sad but unsurprising. When you look at Bright Light's history, you can't imagine that they had much else to do after Deathly Hallows, but that doesn't stop the news from being sad. Once again, a lot of people are now Jobless or a going to be, and this worries me after so many British studios being shut down.
